The old Axmar Bruk (Axmar Mill) ironworks is situated along the coast north of Gävle. The surrounding waters contain easily accessible wrecks mainly from the 19th century. Several of them lie in very shallow waters.

The old Axmar Bruk (Axmar Mill) ironworks is situated along the coast north of Gävle. The surrounding waters contain easily accessible wrecks mainly from the 19th century. Several of them lie in very shallow waters.
The ironworks’ website and information signs tell us about the wrecks, but also about the rich marine animal and plant life close by.
The wrecks are adjacent to the Axmar Bruk cultural reserve. There are plans to develop the dive park, including building a playground in the shape of one of the shipwrecks.
